School Council
The School Council is a group of children elected by their peers each year. The School Council provides one avenue for pupil voice here at St. James' – but this is by no means the only opportunity that children have to share their thoughts and ideas!
The School Council meet regularly to discuss school matters and also to work on projects. For example, development of the reflection garden, design of the library area and improvement of play time provision.
Deciding which charities to support as a school, and how to support them, is another key part of the work of the School Council. They carry out research in a range of ways when making their decisions and often lead whole school assemblies to ensure that all members of the school family are aware of how these choices have been reached. The School Council also plan and organise fundraising events with inspiring enthusiasm!
The work of the School Council is incredibly valued by all at St. James’.
