Forest School
Here at St James' we are lucky to be surrounded by the beautiful Malvern hills and we pride ourselves on taking every opportunity to take our learning outside. We have access to a beautiful ancient woodland just a short walk away from the school where every class attends forest school every week.
Forest School is a child-centred learning program in an outdoor nature based environment, that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions. It is a long-term program that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.
Activities include fire lighting, whittling, den building and lots of fun!!

Week 22nd March 21
This week at forest school the children have been gathering different materials that we will be using as part of our DT projects. In our topic in Class One, the children have been designing houses for the 3 little pigs. We will then be building our houses during an extra-long forest school session next Wednesday. The children also got the opportunity to explore the forest school by writing in the mud, making streams, and enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate.
