Supertato has landed! - 6 March 2020
What a busy week! Cooking, World Book Day, potatoes and lots of art!
Our new text is SuperTato in English. We loved Mrs Landon’s SuperTato so we all made a mini version to take home. This really helped us with our character description writing. It’s a fun adventure story, and will help us write our own adventure story.
We began the week baking fairy cakes with Miss Richards after we learnt about seasonal food, in particular flour and wheat. It was a lot of fun and we took our cakes home to share with our families.
On Wednesday, we had a lovely afternoon learning about the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. We drew ourselves with fruit and veg, created a collage, and then created a 3D version with real food. Our classroom smelt delicious!
On World Book Day, we met up with our reading buddies, shared stories, learnt about illustrators and authors then made our own flip books. We all looked fantastic!
Our new value is goodness, and we are thinking about the goodness we get from food. We showed this in our sketch books and created still life drawings of food.
