Salve Book Worms - 6 March 2020
This week has been very exciting with World Book Day. We enjoyed creating new bookmarks and taking part in our reading buddies. Some of us enjoyed going to the Jimmy Jam Hot Chocolate Read last night.
On Monday, we learnt about sculpting so that on Tuesday we could create plan and use it to make our version of The Carnival of the Animals (please see the pictures below). We will finish these next week but we're very proud of how amazing they all are!
In Maths, Year 5 did fractions this week. we had to add fractions with different denominators. Some of us even go onto adding 4 fractions with different denominators together. Year 6 have been learning to find area and perimeter as well as how to find out the perpendicular height.
In Science, we learnt how a baby develops in the womb. We have all come to the conclusion that we definitely looks like an alien at some point.
We finally won the class cup after weeks of not achieving it! Year 5 helped to put away all of the incredibly generous donations of equipment today - thank you!
Manakin decided to take part in sharing a million books for World Book Day yesterday. He is definitely ready for some warmer weather now! His friend Harry enjoyed turning up as Harry Potter this week although we worried that he was casting spells on us...
