Hola from Class Four - 17 January 2020
Hola! Class Four speaking :)
This week we received our brand new sketchbooks. We started our first page off by sketching fruit and we had to think very hard about shading and the shape of our fruit. We were very proud of how they turned out – see the pictures below.
We started dance in PE this week and we had to create movement to show a firework. We had to use shape, levels and pathways to complete this. Also, important note, PE is now on a Wednesday afternoon.
In Computing, we have started a really fun project: we are creating our very own class website. This week we completed the layout and we hope to share our LIVE website with you all in a few weeks.
In Spanish this week we have learnt how to say and write Spanish colours. Some of them are quite tricky but we enjoyed singing the song.
In History, we have been learning about Maya architecture and social structure. We completed some PowerPoints from our learning and research. Our coolest fact was that the Mayan city Tikal was in Star Wars: A New Hope.
In Maths this week, Year Five have been working on area and Year 6 have been learning about decimals. In Literacy, we have been working on our Mayan myth and the skills we need to complete them. We enjoyed learning about speech and modal verbs. At the end of the day, we have been reading The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo – what a beautiful book it is.
Today we did Science and we learnt about mammals, reptiles and amphibians and the life cycle of them – we enjoyed drawing frogs! We also did our second reading buddy session earlier and it went well.
HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY MANAKIN! He’s enjoyed his Birthday and we dressed him up especially for it.
