Hi from Class 3! - 5 December 2019

It's been a busy few weeks here in Class 3.

Firstly, we have been enjoying being historians and looking at what life was like during Anglo Saxon times. This has included where they came from, reading maps to discover where they settled, what they wore and why Alfred the Great was great! We used natural resources to dye wool and create Anglo Saxon tunics, we were glad to wear gloves whilst we did this.

We have been gymnasts this term. We have built up our skills from floor work, to small then large apparatus. We have demonstrated holds, balances and travelling. It's been fun!

We have written a story in the style of Beowulf and worked hard to further develop our multiplication and division skills. Excitedly, we did another Reading World Cup to choose our new class reading book. Votes were very close but in the end The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark won.

As scientists, we have been investigating rocks and soils. We carried out a test into the hardness and permeability of rocks. Mrs Esrich came to talk to us about the importance of soil and we looked at different soils and their features, it was a muddy and fun afternoon! Thank you for visiting us.

We have been busy preparing our carol concert and have enjoyed joining up with Class 4 to sing. We hope to see many of you tomorrow at the Christmas Fayre.
