End of week 7... - 22 May 2020

As this is the end of term 5, I am reflecting on what a busy and very different term this has been.

I’m thinking of how we’ve adapted to the life in lockdown. I’ve been so impressed with how you have all taken on this remote learning! The way many of you adapt your learning and the extra things you’re doing.(projects including writing a magazine, face painting and science investigations) I’ve picked up some fantastic ideas from your grown-ups. We’ve all had to learn new technology quite quickly (Purple Mash, Google Drive and Zoom, which I’d never heard of before!) You’re all super stars!

This week we’ve continued with our Romans theme, by learning about Hadrian’s Wall. Then in English, writing a biography about Boudicca. We practised our skills by learning about prepositions, spelling homophones and words ending with the suffix –ous then guided reading about The Jumblies. In maths, we’ve been continuing our fraction learning including recognising tenths and hundredths, fractions greater than a whole and equivalent fractions.

Some of us joined the Art World Record with Rob Biddulph, it’s been lovely to see your drawings. I think they’re still counting up, but some of you will be World Record Holders!

Next week is half term. Before a holiday I always say stay safe! So stay safe, keep washing your hands, be kind and keep in touch!
