End of week 14... and the school year! - 16 July 2020
14 weeks! 70 days of home learning! What a year indeed!
Until March the 20th, Class 3 had been super busy in school. We’d been on two school trips (Bishops Wood and Cadbury World) , we’d had visitors to school to talk to us about soil and Saxons and enjoyed our times swimming and playing sports. Learning Spanish, writing amazing stories and challenging ourselves in maths, we were super busy!
From March, everything transferred to home. We all had to pick up new technology, learn new ways to teach and learn remotely. Zoom became a new technology as we held our assemblies online and this became a highlight of the week as we came together to say hi, share what we’ve been doing and have a bit of fun. We were all busy using Purple Mash. And, we continued to be super busy and amazing learners from home.
This week, the children have been reflecting on this time, by writing letters to me. Most of us have enjoyed being with our families, taking walks, baking, exercising, sewing, learning to ride bikes, online choir, family online quizzes and being with our pets. But, we miss our friends (seeing them face to face) playing team sports and many missing school (I will remind you of this when we are crawling to the end of term 2!) All of us are looking forward to being back in school in September, please read the letters from Ms Simmonds explaining what school will look like when we return.
From September, I will be in Class 4, moving up with the current Y4s. Our first theme is Blast Off! (all about space!) All the resources here on the Class 3 page on the school website will stay over the summer, if you want something to do over the following six weeks.
Finally, thank you Class 3! You're all superstars! The last year has been a memorable one and I wish you all a well-deserved break. Take care, stay safe and see you in September.
