End of week 12... - 2 July 2020

I’m a day early with the blog this week, due to staff training tomorrow, so the title isn’t quite true!

Home schooling has continued, with English lessons being very much about skills this week in preparation for our end of unit writing next week.

Maths has been a mixture of learning this week, including time, recognising 2D and 3D shapes and interpreting data. The children have been using the White Rose Maths sheets and completing complimentary 2Dos on Purple Mash. Sadly, some learning actually did get eaten by a dog this week, puppy training is continuing I understand!

I can only apologise to families who tried the self-inflating balloon experiment this week and it exploded! Hope the mess wasn’t too messy!

As I write, I know a number of children are busy creating a Roman shield, as part of learning about the Roman army this week. If I get photos, I will add them to next week’s blog.

My Keyworker bubble has been learning about the water cycle and clouds this week. I did share my resources with the children via their emails but will add the cloud viewer etc to the key information page on our class section on the website.

I was also able to see the Y5s this week as part of their transition. We spent time answering questions, sharing learning and I was able to reveal Class 4’s new theme for September! I have also told the Y4’s too! We’re all excited to get started come September!

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch sl306@stjames.worcs.sch.uk

Take care, Mrs Landon
